What is the high street business mentoring programme?

North Somerset’s high street retail and hospitality businesses now have the unique opportunity to enhance their operations and growth strategies with free one-to-one retail mentoring.

What will the support look like?

You will receive tailored support from Riseley Consulting that is designed specifically for small enterprises. This mentoring programme offers:

  • personalised sessions with a business advisor
  • expert guidance tailored to your specific business needs
  • follow-up appointments
  • help tracking progress
  • tailored action plans

The support will be tailored to the unique needs of your business, aiming to enhance profitability, optimise sales, and introduce new processes in buying, marketing, cash flow planning, and financial control

Who can apply

To qualify for the high street business mentoring programme, businesses must:

  • be located (trading) in a North Somerset high street
  • operate in the retail or hospitality sectors
  • qualify as an SME with fewer than 50 employees.

This new project, funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), is run by North Somerset Council in collaboration with Riseley Consulting.

How does it work?

North Somerset Council will manage all initial enquiries through an expression of interest and application process. Once eligibility is verified, successful applicants will be referred to Riseley Consulting to begin their mentoring journey.
The funding is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. It will be prioritised subject to need and available to approximately 27 eligible North Somerset enterprises.
