The UK economy is changing. During the course of this inaugural conference, we will explore how the Western Gateway can level up communities, deliver enterprise, growth and decarbonise our economy to reach net zero.

The Western Gateway partnership crosses borders, champions our businesses and brings together communities to create opportunities for inclusive sustainable growth.

Home to world leading industrial sectors, a skilled workforce and highly competitive research and innovation organisations, the Western Gateway is competing internationally to attract investment. Our skilled workforce combined with our natural assets means the area is uniquely placed to deliver the decarbonised energy ecosystem we need to tackle climate change.

During the course of the day, leaders from across industry, innovation, and government will share their thoughts on how the Western Gateway can be at the forefront of the UK effort to build back better after the pandemic. It is also your opportunity to have a say in how the partnership’s should move forward on delivering against these priorities.

Sponsored by Deloitte, the day will include:

  • Insights from thought leaders on how the Western Gateway can make change happen
  • Discussions with local leaders about how the Western Gateway is innovating to Level Up the area and opportunities to get involved
  • Perspectives on the potential for the area to become a Global Green Energy Super Cluster
  • Sessions on how to access to the finance needed to translate ideas into impact.

We have now published an early agenda which lays out the structure and topics of the day.

More details to come once speakers are confirmed.
