As part of the Welcome Back North Somerset programme
supporting independent consumer-facing businesses,
we would like to invite you to the following FREE bite-size online
training sessions that will be taking place during March. These sessions
will take no more than one hour of your time and will provide you with valuable
new and refreshed skills. All sessions are free of charge and are offered
on a first come, first served basis.

short online sessions, and will only be available on these dates, so don’t miss

What makes a good website – Tuesday 1 March @ 4.30pm
Key learning points will be:
- The benefits of having a website
- Deciding what type of website is best for your business
- Finding a trusted web designer
- Keeping a website up to date and engaging.
Creating Content that Works – Wednesday 2 March @11am
During this bite-size, one hour session we will cover:
- what do customers respond to
- how to repurpose content for different channels
- tips to measure success
- why bad images hurt your business
- how good images create emotional connections
- tips for resizing to meet different platform requirements
Marketing Planning – Monday 7 March @11am
This session will look at:
- The 4 p’s of marketing – product, price, promotion and place
- Marketing planning
- Marketing channels and how to utilise the right ones for your business
Setting up and using your Google My Business listing – Wednesday 9 March @ 4.30pm
If there’s only one thing you ever do online as a business, it should probably be claiming your Google My Business listing. Not only is it free, but it directly impacts how your shop or premises show up on Google Maps and in search.
In this interactive webinar, retail and digital marketing expert Graham Soult will take you through how to claim your listing, how to keep it updated, and how that can positively impact on the way that customers see and find your business.
Search Engine Optimisation – Tuesday 15 March @2pm
During this one hour session we will cover:
- What is SEO and why is it important?
- Keywords – research and targeting.
- How to measure success with Google Analytics and the top six stats you should know
- How good SEO is the building block for future success with Paid Advertising.
Online advertising (for social media) – Monday 21 March @2pm

- exploring analytics dashboards for performance monitoring
