North Somerset Workplace Health Check Programme

Better Health North Somerset and Pier Health Group have teamed up to offer free workplace health checks as part of a national pilot scheme. The programme aims to deliver 2,600 health checks by May 2025 for employees aged 30 to 74 directly at their workplaces.
These health checks are designed to spot early signs of health conditions such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, diabetes, and dementia. Identifying these conditions early can significantly help employees to manage their health better and reduce the risk of future health issues.
Employees are eligible if they do not already have certain long-term health conditions (including coronary heart disease, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hypertension, atrial fibrillation, transient ischaemic attack, familial hypercholesterolaemia, heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, or previous stroke) and haven’t had an NHS health check in the last five years.
Workplaces have a key role in supporting employee well-being, and this programme helps ensure that employees stay healthy and productive.
