West of England: Skills Bootcamps
19th December 2024
What are Skills Bootcamps?
If you are an employer seeking a cost-effective solution to enhance the skills of your workforce or recruit qualified new employees, Skills Bootcamps may be an excellent option.
Skills Bootcamps are designed in collaboration with employers and training providers to address local skills gaps and vacancies. They provide employers with access to specialised training tailored to meet specific skill needs, thereby fostering a dedicated and talented workforce to ensure the long-term success of your business.
This program is funded through the Department of Education’s National Skills Fund and is part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, aimed at assisting adults aged 19 and older in acquiring essential life skills.
How does the fund operate?
The fund is designed to assist employers in implementing tailored training initiatives that address short to mid-term skills shortages, with the goal of facilitating progressions into employment, new roles, increased responsibilities, or new contracts.
Employers have the option to partner with appropriate training providers or utilise their own in-house training resources to deliver these training programs. Additionally, there is an opportunity for employers to collaborate with one another when there is a shared skills requirement. While training is provided at no cost to learners, a nominal contribution may be required based on the size of the employer.
Training providers are eligible to apply for the fund if they have established relationships with employers who can benefit from the training or if they are willing to collaborate with relevant employers.
