SWEF Enterprise Grants for young entrepreneurs Now Available

7th February 2024

SWEF Enterprise Grants of up to £2,000 are now available through the Somerset Community Foundation for young people aged between 18-35 in North Somerset for support with business start-up costs.

About the SWEF Award

If you’re aged 18-35, live in North Somerset, Somerset or BANES, are not in education, work, or
training, or if you’re on a low income, SWEF could give you an Enterprise Grant of up to £2,000 to
turn your bright idea into reality.

Are you looking to start or grow a business? The grant can help for things like equipment, materials,
stock and services to help you get started and you won’t need to pay it back. You’re eligible
whether your business is just getting started, or if you’ve been running it for less than two years.

What is the criteria?

  • You are aged 18 to 35 currently live in the counties of North Somerset, Somerset or BANES
  • You want to start your own business and know what products or services you want to provide,
or have been trading for under 2 years.
  • You must have ‘charitable purpose.’ This can be family, health or economic challenges and
applies to the applicant not the business.
