Getting ready for launch – new spaces at Sovereign nearly completed
15th July 2022
After months of building work, the four refurbished units at the Sovereign are nearing competition, ready to launch and bring new activity and footfall into Weston’s town centre later this summer.
We Are Super, the new workspace for local freelancers and small businesses, occupies four former retail units and will offer a selection of 30+ much-needed office spaces and coworking desks. Moreover, new flexible and hybrid working patterns will be reflected in different options for space users: from drop-in day rates to the potential to get the whole team working together onsite for a day a week.
At the Project Office, an exhibition about Weston’s transformation and regeneration is being set up while the recruitment of a meanwhile coffee concession is under way. Applications close on Sunday, with shortlisting and interviews planned shortly thereafter. The large unit will also enable a vast array of events, both professional and leisure-focused, to take place.
At Ride Weston, the working title for the activity-focused offer in the remaining retail unit by the sea-facing Sovereign exit, lease discussions with a future operator are progressing at the moment.
The social enterprise Meanwhile Space, who will manage the spaces, have now employed a local workspace manager, and will shortly welcome initial site visits from both local stakeholders and businesses interested in renting the space.
