Western Gateway Strategic Investment Plan – Consultation

  • 16th January 2025
  • 12:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Online - Via MS Teams

The Western Gateway, the Sub-national Transport Body covering Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, the West of England, and Dorset, has launched a public consultation on its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP). The consultation runs from 20 December 2024 to 2 February 2025 and seeks feedback on the transport schemes shortlisted for the region.

What is the SIP?

The SIP is a multi-modal investment plan designed to achieve the adopted Strategic Transport Plan (STP) goals, focusing on boosting the economy, improving quality of life, and enhancing environmental sustainability. Adopted in March 2024, the STP provides a framework for addressing key strategic transportation challenges in the Western Gateway region.

The SIP will serve as a blueprint for regional transport investment over the next decade, enabling the delivery of quality housing, sustainable growth, and reduced carbon emissions. It prioritizes collaboration among partners to meet the region’s needs while minimizing costs and environmental impact.
