Food WorksSW: Photography and Videography Workshop for Food & Drink Businesses

A one-day workshop is coming to North Somerset this September to help local food and drink businesses create professional photos and videos using just their smartphones.

The Photography and Videography Workshop takes place on Thursday 18 September 2025, from 9:30am to 3:30pm, and is designed for small business owners, freelancers and marketing teams who want to confidently produce engaging, branded content for social media and websites.

About the Workshop

Delivered by Becky Craven Creative, this practical, hands-on session will teach participants how to plan, shoot, edit and share high-quality content — without the need for expensive equipment.

By the end of the day, attendees will know how to:

• Capture professional photos and videos using a smartphone
• Recognise great lighting and style a scene effectively
• Take better product shots
• Film short-form content for social media
• Edit videos using simple mobile apps
• Capture clear audio, even in busy environments
• Build a consistent visual brand
• Format content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and more
• Use low-cost accessories and apps to enhance production quality

Workshop Schedule

Morning – Photography & Visual Strategy:

• Understanding good lighting
• Styling and framing
• Product photography tips
• Content strategy and creating with purpose

Lunch will be provided

Afternoon – Video, Audio & Editing:

• Shooting in vertical and horizontal formats
• Storytelling in under 60 seconds
• Quick audio wins and live demonstrations
• Editing on your phone
• Filters, branding and live content creation

This event is funded by the West of England Food and Drink Support Initiative.
Free tickets are available for:

• Food and drink manufacturers based in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire

• Start-ups, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises
