Why your business should consider offering work experience this Summer

This Summer is the perfect chance to get involved in your local community and support school children through work experience. After the interruptions of the last two years many students missed out and are keen to gain on the ground experience.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to promote your line of work and encourage young people to consider careers with skills gaps. Feedback from our own work experience suggests that students weren’t aware of the breadth of our delivery and became much more likely to consider a career in local government following their placement.
Furthermore, it’s an excellent and commitment free way to upskill existing staff in line management, coordination, and inclusivity. Take this opportunity to harness the support from our wonderful Special Schools across North Somerset to offer mutually rewarding placements for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
Don’t be intimidated if your business has not offered opportunities before. Many schools carry out their own risk assessments and request the necessary details from you for paperwork.
