The Food Works SW is hosting a free workshop in partnership with the Food Standards Agency’s National Food Crime Unit (NFCU) to help food businesses strengthen their defences against fraud and crime.

What You’ll Learn
This comprehensive 5.5-hour workshop is designed to help you understand the key process steps and communication channels required during a food fraud incident. Participants will gain practical experience through a live scenario exercise, providing a safe environment to test your business’s emergency response plan.
Key Objectives:
- Work through a live incident scenario with examples of good practice and common pitfalls to avoid
- Understand the role of the National Food Crime Unit (NFCU) as your single point of contact during incidents
- Learn to identify and gather the different types of information required for food crime investigations
- Understand enforcement proportionality in relation to food crime
- Identify relevant internal and external stakeholders during developing investigations
- Recognise obstacles to dealing with incidents, including time constraints for securing evidence
- Emphasise the importance of fraud resilience, prevention and deterrence in maintaining brand reputation and food safety
