Able Futures: Free Mental Health Support for the Self-Employed and SMEs

Able Futures is supporting North Somerset residents with free, confidential mental health support for people who are self-employed or running small businesses.
Able Futures delivers the Access to Work Mental Health Support Service on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions. The service is open to anyone aged 16 or over in work, including the self-employed, and provides up to nine months of personalised guidance and advice – at no cost.
Support for Self-Employed People
If you’re self-employed and struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, sleep issues or lack of confidence, Able Futures is here to help.
You can access one-to-one support from a dedicated mental health coach who will work with you to:
- Develop coping strategies
- Build self-care routines
- Make adjustments to improve your mental well-being at work
- Access further therapy or support where needed

Support for Small and Medium-Sized Employers
Able Futures is also working with SME employers across North Somerset, providing expert advice and resources to help embed mental health support in the workplace.
Employers can access:
- A local Business Account Manager to help introduce or improve mental health support
- Staff information sessions
- Ready-to-use promotional materials to raise awareness among employees
