Learn about new funding opportunities to trial on-farm innovations

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has announced that the first funding round for the ADOPT programme (Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies) will open in Spring 2025.

This was confirmed by Defra Secretary of State, Steve Reed, at the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) Conference in February.

To help farmers, growers, and foresters prepare, a free online webinar is being held to explain how the funding works and how to get involved.

About ADOPT

The ADOPT programme will fund on-farm tests and trials that explore:

• New tools and technologies

• Improved systems and approaches

• Ways to enhance profitability, productivity, and sustainability

This initiative aims to support agricultural innovation across England.

The funding is part of the wider Farming Innovation Programme, delivered by Innovate UK on behalf of Defra.
