Parking Management Strategy and action plan, introduction of new charges and short-stay permit consultation
18th March 2024
North Somerset Council has today (Monday 18 March 2024) launched our seven-week consultation on proposals to introduce a new parking management strategy and action plan that could apply across North Somerset, and the introduction of new charges in car parks and on-street parking, and a short-stay parking permit.
A press release has just been shared with local media, which you can see on the council website at: https://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/news/consultation-launched-proposed-parking-charges
We have composed a questionnaire specifically for local businesses to complete to seek your views on the proposed changes. We are interested in how any changes could impact your business, your staff and your customers. We also want to hear from businesses that might be impacted by the displacement of cars if they choose to not park at one of the locations mentioned in the questionnaire.
This is at: www.n-somerset.gov.uk/getinvolved
Please complete this by midday on Tuesday 7 May.
We encourage everyone to complete the questionnaire online if possible, although a Word version is available upon request. Please email YourNeighbourhood@n-somerset.gov.uk to request a copy.
As a local business you will also fall into the commuter and possibly the local resident category – we would also like to hear from you in that capacity as well.
The link to the online waste consultation questionnaire for residents to complete is www.n-somerset.gov.uk/getinvolved. Please help us share this webpage far and wide!
For anyone without online access, paper copies of the resident questionnaire are available in libraries.
Attached to this email is a frequently asked questions document with a huge amount of information – we are treating this as a ‘live’ document so keep checking back on our webpage for updates as we go through the consultation
There is also lots of useful background information on our website consultation pages. You can access this from www.n-somerset.gov.uk/getinvolved.
We’ll regularly be sharing updates on the council’s social media profiles – please do look out for these as we will be sharing details of our in-person events that will be held throughout April.
If you have any questions which aren’t answered in the frequently asked questions, or if you are part of a group (BID etc) and would like to speak with officers please email yourneighbourhood@n-somerset.gov.uk.
