North Somerset Food Directory Launches to Champion Local Producers
A new online North Somerset Food and Drink Directory has launched, making it easier for residents, retailers, hospitality businesses, and visitors to discover and buy high quality locally produce. Designed to support the local food economy, the directory brings together North Somerset’s producers, growers, bakers, brewers, food businesses, markets, and events in one easy‑to‑use place.
This initiative aims to strengthen connections between local businesses and customers, encourage residents to buy local, and showcase the diversity and quality of North Somerset’s food and drink sector. By making it simpler to find what’s available on their doorstep, the directory helps keep more spending within the local economy and support local supply chains.
The directory features:
- Listings for local food and drink producers, growers and retailers of local food
- Information on where and how to buy locally produced food
- An events page highlighting food markets, festivals and local food‑related events across North Somerset
Designed as a practical resource for both residents and businesses the directory makes it easier to source local products while helping traders promote their offer, reach new customers and grow their presence locally
Mandie Berry at North Somerset Council, said:
“North Somerset has a vibrant and growing food and drink sector, from independent producers to established hospitality businesses. This new directory will help residents and businesses discover what’s made on their doorstep, support local supply chains, and support more spending within the local economy.”
As part of the launch, the directory also promotes key local food events and festivals taking place across North Somerset throughout the year, helping keep track of, drive footfall and raise the profile of local producers and venues.
Food and drink businesses based in North Somerset are encouraged to add or update their details on the directory, ensuring it remains current, useful and representative of the local sector.
