Call for Temporary Accommodation – Epic Contractors
Contractors working on the Epic campus development in Long Ashton are seeking temporary accommodation for their large and growing workforce. The construction programme will run over the next five years, delivered in several consecutive phases, and demand for accommodation is already increasing.
We are compiling a list of local accommodation providers who may be interested in letting rooms to the workforce. Most workers require accommodation Monday to Friday, returning home at weekends. If your business can offer availability — even if only outside of the peak summer season — we would welcome the details.
Please provide:
- Number of rooms available
- Approximate dates/seasonal availability
- Indicative rates
- Contact details to pass on to contractors
In addition to traditional accommodation, some subcontractors are also searching for land suitable for temporary portacabin‑style units, due to limited availability and the high cost of rooms in Bristol. We are aware that some workers are already using glamping sites in North Somerset and making the most of the on-site fishing after work.
The Economy Team is working closely with the main contractor and subcontractors to maximise opportunities for local businesses and residents within the supply chain. However, due to the scale of the project, a significant proportion of the workforce will still need to come from outside the district — creating a strong opportunity for local accommodation providers.
If you would like to be included on the accommodation list, please get in touch. (Business@n-somerset.gov.uk)
