Join the North Somerset Healthy Workplaces Programme

Most of us spend a large proportion of our time at work, whether going out somewhere to work or working from home. Workplaces play a key role in contributing to the health and wellbeing of employees, which in turn supports the health of the organisation.

Having a healthy and productive workforce is often a key organisational aim, especially in today’s competitive business environment. The North Somerset Healthy Workplaces Programme, launched in 2023, has been designed to support local employers in developing and delivering policies and programmes that promote and improve the health and wellbeing of their employees, helping to reduce health inequality and bringing economic benefits to the local area.

Growing Success

Since rolling out the programme in 2023, the initiative has welcomed numerous organisations as members. The scheme has grown significantly, with 18 workplaces now signed up as Healthy Workplace Members, benefitting 27,863 employees. To date, four Bronze Awards and one Silver Award have been achieved, recognising outstanding commitment to staff health and wellbeing.

The scheme also offers access to a bi-monthly newsletter featuring the latest news, events, training opportunities, and useful information to support the health and wellbeing of all who work in North Somerset. Members can attend networking events and workshops, providing valuable opportunities to exchange ideas and learn from other organisations about ways to better support their workforce.

Real-World Impact

The programme has already made a significant impact across North Somerset.
