New adult training opportunities in leadership and project management

Weston College is opening enrolment for two subsidised programmes this autumn, giving North Somerset residents and employers a cost‑effective way to boost management skills.
Whether you are stepping up to lead a small team or need to oversee complex projects, Weston College has a course starting soon:

1. Leadership & Management: a first step into supervision
Running one day a week for five weeks, this practical programme helps new and aspiring managers build a toolkit covering communication, team leadership, conflict resolution and performance management.
- Who is it for? Team leaders, supervisors and staff moving into their first management role.
- Funding Co‑funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).
- Next intakes 16 September 2025, 13 January 2026, 12 May 2026.
2. Project Management Skills Bootcamp: Deliver projects on time and on budget
Over ten weekly sessions, participants gain hands‑on experience mapped to the Association for Project Management (APM) qualifications, including budgeting, stakeholder communication and earned‑value tracking.
- Who is it for? Employees responsible for delivering projects who live or work in North Somerset, Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
- Funding Part‑funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority (WEMCA) through the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee (90 % subsidy for SMEs, 70 % for larger employers).
- Eligibility: Aged 19 +, employed and not already on another Skills Bootcamp this year.
