Free WorkWell service helps employees stay healthy and in work

20th June 2025

Employers across North Somerset are being urged to signpost staff who are finding it hard to stay in work because of a disability or health condition to WorkWell – a friendly, free support service covering Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. The programme offers one-to-one coaching plus rapid access to physiotherapy, counselling, gym sessions and links to a wide range of local services, all designed to remove health-related barriers to employment.

A North Somerset Council spokesperson said: “Good work is good for our health, but when health problems go unchecked they can quickly put jobs at risk. WorkWell gives residents – and the employers who rely on them – fast, practical help so more people can remain happy, healthy and productive at work.”

Who can use WorkWell?

  • Anyone aged 16 or over who lives in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire.
  • People who are struggling at work, off sick and planning a return, or looking for suitable new employment.
