Share your views: Keep Britain Working Engagement Phase
19th May 2025
Employers, employees and local organisations in North Somerset are invited to take part in the Keep Britain Working Engagement Phase.
This is part of the Keep Britain Working Review, an independent review for the UK Government led by Sir Charlie Mayfield. The aim is to understand what support helps people with health conditions or disabilities to stay in work or return after being off sick.
Sir Charlie and his team want to hear about practical steps that:
- Prevent health conditions from developing or getting worse at work
- Help people stay in work if they’re at risk of leaving because of a health issue
- Support people to return to work after sickness absence
Anyone can respond, including employers, charities, representative organisations and individuals. The team is especially keen to hear about what works for:
- Young people (aged 16 to 34) with mental health conditions
- People aged 35 to 49 with muscle or joint problems (musculoskeletal conditions)
- Older workers (aged 50 and over) who are nearing retirement
- Disabled employees of all ages
These groups are more likely to leave work and become economically inactive. The review will help develop practical policy ideas to address this.
Your response will help shape recommendations to be published in autumn 2025. All responses will be kept secure and used only for this review. No personal information will be published without your permission.
The form will close at midnight on Friday 30 May 2025.
