It’s been a busy few months at The Food Worksˢʷ

The Food WorksSW, the South West’s only dedicated food and drink innovation centre, was the star of a special on BBC1’s The One Show on 28 January. The centre is owned by North Somerset Council and closely supported by the Economy Team to ensure that North Somerset residents and businesses benefit from the support and specialist facilities on offer.
The One Show feature was presented by Young Masterchef judge and YouTube food star Hasan Semay (Big Has), who travelled to the not-for-profit centre in Weston-super-Mare to meet some of the businesses who use the facility, find out more about its specialist kitchens and the technical team who help food, drink and hospitality businesses to grow and innovate.
Since opening in Weston-super-Mare in 2020, The Food Works has supported over 300 businesses, helping them to grow, innovate, diversify and extend their product and menu offerings. It aims to help many more businesses in the coming years through enhanced facilities and equipment.
The Food Works will be hosting its annual Discovery Day on 27 February to enable attendees to experience Food Works for themselves. The day will provide an opportunity to hear talks from industry specialists, tour the facilities, see a range of demos in the Product Development kitchens and meet the Technical team. The Food Works has just launched a new West of England Food and Drink Support Initiative which will enable residents and businesses in the region to benefit from FREE technical and accreditation support. The support will be delivered at The Food WorksSW, on site and at a number of community kitchens. More information can be found here www.foodworks-sw.co.uk/westofengland
The Food Works has also worked with the Economy team and RAW PR to create its first ever Partnership opportunity. The Partnership programme will give businesses the chance to sponsor the centre to further help existing and emerging food and drink brands, and become an integral part of the country’s food, drink and hospitality scene.
