Culture West Opportunities

Culture West, is a £3.1 million programme, consisting of £1 million from Arts Council England, £1.5 million in match funding from the Mayoral Combined Authority, and £640,000 from regional partners, designed to nurture the expansion of creativity and culture in the region, solidifying its position as a worldwide centre for creative and cultural innovation.

Fully funded Skills Bootcamp for Freelancers in the Creative Industries, starting this November! Imminent closing date!

This professional in-person program is designed to prepare you for a lasting freelancing career in the creative and cultural industries.

Time: 10am to 5pm

Weeks: 9

Start Date: w/c 25th November

Venue: Central Bristol

Full Fee: Free

Level: Level 4

  • The training will be mostly in person, with online support from your tutor and the MUTI team outside of this.
  • This is a level 4 course based on IfATE accredited occupational standards, the aim is that you gain new skills, understanding of the sector and support into new work. 
  • Aimed at early or mid career Freelancers working in the Creative Industries, by completing this program you will be well-prepared for sustainable employment opportunities in the industry.

Black South West Network (BSWN) – CultureBiz Connect

CultureBiz Connect is a £3m collaboration to reimagine and transform access to the arts and culture in the region.  Delivered in partnership with Diverse Artists Network (DAN) and Creative Powertown it aims to understand and respond to the needs of artists and cultural producers in the West of England through a three-pronged approach of understanding the needs and barriers present in the sector, crafting development programmes for creative businesses, and distributing a small grants programme to support growth and ambition in the sector.  To visit the CultureBiz website the link is here.

Making Creative Learning Resources

Bath Spa University’s School of Art, Film and Media are looking for 25 creatives to take part in a two-day training programme on how to make creative learning resources. 5 participants will then be commissioned to produce resources that will be distributed across the West of England region.   https://www.bathspa.ac.uk/projects/the-value-of-artists/

ArtsConnect

North Somerset Arts held their ArtsConnect this recently and it was great to see some new faces and get to know each other better. ArtsConnect is their new monthly social where you can meet other local artists and share your experiences. Each month will be on a different day of the week and at a different location in North Somerset.

Social Media ArtMeet

Struggling with Instagram and Facebook? Our Social Media team are here to give you some tips and tricks.

North Somerset Arts will be hosting a workshop on Instagram and Facebook on Saturday 9th November. The workshop will cover the basics, such as creating an account, as well as delving into advanced techniques like using Canva to enhance the engagement of your reels.
