Call out for Help to Run a Cultural-Creative Industries Network

A consultation earlier in the year for the council’s new Cultural Audit and Action Plan revealed freelancers felt isolated and there was a desire to build stronger connections in North Somerset. To investigate the viability of a network a meeting with arts organisations, led by the council, was held on 3rd October.
The Action Plan states that for a network be relevant and sustainable, the demand and vision for it must come from the sector itself but, given the current deficit of publicly funded organisations in North Somerset and the small size of most creative companies, the sector itself is unlikely to have the capacity for network development.
We are therefore proposing a network resourced jointly through the council and the creative/cultural sector and are looking for volunteers to get involved. We need creatives to lead and set the vision for the network. If you can help please contact josyanne.clarke@n-somerset.gov.uk
