Upcoming Culture West Opportunities

creativeShift: Creative Reach – 12th September 2024

For young adults aged between 16-26 years old, designed by creativeShift, Creative Reach is a free arts and wellbeing programme. Running on the 12th of September from 10am – 12pm at the John Wesley’s New Room in Bristol, the programme is for young people facing barriers to employment and education.

Noods Levels CIC: TRACKING Programme – 1st October

Noods Levels will be hosting an 8-week graphic design course for their third term. The course will catalyse 6 young designers’ careers, in partnership with Bristol design studio and Fiasco Design. The programme is aimed at 18-25 year olds who can attend the weekly sessions in Bristol in person.

Bristol Beacon: Creative Health in Action -18th October 2024

Bristol Beacon, Creative Shift, University of Bristol and Culture West have collaborated to bring you Creative Health in Action. Located at Bridgehouse at Bristol Beacon, this exciting event will celebrate, showcase, discuss and explore the impact creativity has on health.

Designed for policy makers in Public Health, ICB, Arts and Culture, as well as practitioners, professionals and participants, this free event will be an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate creative health projects and initiatives in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
  • Understand and explore what is happening in our region, meet others and hear stories from people who are living proof that creative health works
  • Ask questions, galvanize and commit to actions around creative health, so that we can sustain creative health ecosystems for all in the city and region

There will be live music, movement, photography, film, stalls, exhibitions and interactive workshops, with contributors such as Bath Aphasia Choir, Rising Voices: Bristol Recovery Choir, Gerry’s Attic Dance Company and Open Door Drama.
