Skills Bootcamp 2024 has launched!

Wave 5 funding for Skills Bootcamps is now live for new categories listed, with all others launching 11th March 2024.

Following the success of Skills Bootcamps delivery in our region, the West of England Combined Authority are making a further £7 million available to employers and training providers to deliver specialist training within a range of sectors.

Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer. Learn more.

If you are an employer looking to bolster the skills of your own workforce, or a training provider who wishes to deliver Skills Bootcamps, please read on and apply now.


What does funding cover?

Initiatives are expected to deliver progressions outcomes into work, a new role, new responsibilities, or new contracts.

Skills Bootcamps Wave 5 Call 2

There will be a further call introducing all other sectors opening on 11 March 2024, including:

  • Logistics – Rail
  • Construction and the Built Environment
  • Green Skills
  • Digital
  • Leadership and Management
  • Engineering

How to apply?

The fund is seeking applications from organisations who can collaborate to co-design and co-deliver innovative approaches to address ‘in-demand’ skills across the sectors listed above. These can be new or existing collaborations and can consist of any combination of employers, training providers, colleges, universities, sector representatives and / or other community of charity organisations – there is no set formula.

Applications must:

  • Be received by 12 noon on Monday 25th March 2024. Any application not fully completed or submitted after this date and time will be disregarded by the Authority.
  • Be submitted electronically to both skills@westofengland-ca.gov.uk and multiplyandskillsbootcamps@westofengland-ca.gov.uk including the words “Skills Bootcamps” in the subject line.
  • Include a ‘read receipt’ to all applications submitted.

You will receive a formal email receipt of your application no more than 2 working days after submission. If you do not receive this you should contact multiplyandskillsbootcamps@westofengland-ca.gov.uk

Please note that any questions you raise during this application process that are not commercially sensitive will be published publicly on the Authority’s website weekly as part of an FAQ document, this is where questions submitted will be answered.
