Town Centre Occupancy Project
16th February 2024
Businesses and social enterprises: Are you looking to take on a town centre unit? Do you need support to expand your town centre business?
The council has developed a new funded business support programme to help small businesses and social enterprises increase the viability of remaining in or taking on a town centre unit. Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund the scheme is a small- scale pilot project running until the end of 2024. To join the programme, you must have a trading address within the administrative area of North Somerset and premises in North Somerset or be looking to occupy vacant premises in North Somerset. Your business or activity should be able to bring footfall into the town centre, have long-term growth potential, and operate in the hospitality, visitor economy, community or creative sectors.
An average of 8 hours of support will be provided to help you increase the sustainability and growth of your business. The support will include sales promotion, brand management, identifying value propositions, pricing, digital transformation, and identification of grant funding opportunities. You will be expected to fully commit to the programme and complete your tasks and action plan in a timely manner.
