16th September 2021
Working with partners across academia, industry and government,
the Western Gateway Partnership is driving forward a programme that builds on
the distinctive assets, sectors, and strengths of Western England and South
Wales. This collaborative approach to economic development will increase
productivity, unlock economic potential, and generate inclusive growth.
Deloitte have prepared a roadmap report that provides the Partnership with a
rich evidence base to inform future activities. It examines conclusions from
previous research and sets out a consolidated list of actionable and
transformative initiatives.
Join us for a panel discussion and Q&A session on the recommendations of this
report, where our panellists will reflect on the Western Gateway’s journey to
date, the future opportunity landscape, and the potential to deliver on
challenges from Levelling Up to Net Zero.
Panellists include:
- Cllr Jane Mudd, Deputy Chair of the Western Gateway and Leader of Newport City Council
- Professor Hugh Brady, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Bristol
- Sir Howard Bernstein, Strategic Advisor for Local Development
and Governance, Deloitte
Additional panellists to be announced.
