Nominations now open for Travelwest Business Awards 2018

Businesses and individuals are invited to share their efforts to encourage more people to travel sustainably. The annual Travelwest Business Awards recognise and celebrate the successes of organisations across the West of England that are making significant contributions to sustainable travel. Nominations are open until Friday 5th October 2018. The award ceremony will take place at UWE Exhibition and Conference Centre, South Gloucestershire on 29th November 2018.

This year, new categories have been introduced to award: (1) Long-term Commitment to Sustainable Travel, (2) Most Improved Workplace (small, medium, large), (3) Best Motivational Campaign, (4) Most Innovative Sustainable Travel Measure and (5) Sustainable Travel Champion(s). The top accolade ‘Organisation of the Year’ will be picked from the pool of category winners. Running annually for the last six years, the Awards are co-ordinated by Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils with more than 70 organisations receiving an Award to date.

The awards ceremony also recognises corporate travel plans which were rewarded through official accreditation. The Travelwest Travel Plan Accreditation is valid for three years and advocates an organisation’s commitment to promote sustainable travel for commuting and business travel. This year applications will need to be submitted by Friday 12th October 2018 for recognition at this year’s ceremony. Last year, Clevedon based technology firm Edwards achieved Bronze level accreditation for their travel plan.
