Local Industrial Strategy - Launch Event

Businesses across the West of England are being encouraged to get involved in shaping the future of the region.

The West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) are working on a Local Industrial Strategy, which will set out how the region can achieve its ambition for clean and inclusive economic growth.

Businesses from North Somerset, as well as Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire are being encouraged to attend a series of events, kicking off with a launch in Keynsham on Friday 21 September.

The West of England is an economically successful region where businesses start, grow and thrive in high numbers. It leads the way in sectors; from aerospace to advanced manufacturing, creative to robotics, finance to food, and is perfectly placed to drive innovation across the UK and the world.

WECA and LEP will be working very closely with central Government on the Local Industrial Strategy, helping to drive investment to the region, create long-term jobs and support continued economic growth.

Business input is essential to delivering a successful Local Industrial Strategy - find out more at www.westofengland-ca.gov.uk/local-industrial-strategy. Those interested in attending the briefing on Friday 21 September should visit the Eventbrite page at www.bit.ly/lislaunch to book a place.

Following the launch, there will be a series of workshops across the region looking at some of the ‘grand challenges’ as set out in the Industrial Strategy. These are AI and Big Data, Clean Growth, Ageing Population, and Future of Mobility.
