There is a great provision of Educational Services throughout the district offering services for people of every age.

Graduation

There are a total of 79 schools in the area providing education for over 28,000 pupils. OFSTED reports can be found on North Somerset Council's website listed under individual school details. The general pass rate for GCSE’s are in line with the national average, almost 80% gained 5+ A*-C GCSEs in 2012. The pass rate for A Level exams was 98.4%, this is well above the England average of 97.9% for 2012. Schools in the district recently benefited from £45 million investment in buildings and facilities including a new school at Nailsea. Projects included new classrooms, sports halls, libraries and disabled facilities.

There are 14 children's centres in North Somerset, offering vital services such as day care, health advice and parenting support all under one roof.

But it is not only children and young people that benefit from learning - it's a lifelong opportunity.

Since 2006, over 1500 local people were helped into learning activities and over 500 of these learners have progressed into further education, including accredited programmes with Weston College.

North Somerset boasts a very diverse and skilled workforce throughout the district with many skills to offer the wide range of employers in North Somerset and around the South West.
