Yeates Removals, Storage & Shredding, Clevedon
Yeates is an independent family firm that has a long history in removals and storage and has more recently added secure shredding to its services. Established in Clevedon in North Somerset at the beginning of the 20th century it’s the oldest family run removal business in the Bristol area.
Yeates was established in 1910 using horses and carts for general haulage in Clevedon and the surrounding areas. The company has always been run by family members and is currently headed up by James Griffin who took over from his father John in 2001.
Its HQ in North Somerset is perfectly located thanks to its excellent transport links by road, rail, air and sea. The M5 motorway corridor provides essential road links to the South West and the rest of the country, making it easily accessible for customers and from which to operate its UK-wide removals service.
The team at Yeates understand that moving home can be a stressful and chaotic time so that’s why they offer a tailor-made service relevant to each individual client's needs. Well-known for its outstanding customer service, Yeates is proud of its recent 99% Referenceline Customer Satisfaction Rating - gathered from over 800 delighted customers!
The new Shredding Service was launched in response to the need for businesses to comply with legal obligations and also to help homeowners and businesses protect against confidentiality breaches or identity theft. With potential fines of up to £500,000 Yeates fulfils the growing desire to effectively destroy confidential information.
This ambitious family business has also modernised and adapted to customers’ storage needs by offering both containerised and self storage units within a secure warehouse space which has 24 hour digital CCTV surveillance, monitored intruder alarms and fire protection. So whether people are looking to store items between moves, to keep archives for their business or safely store cherished possessions, Yeates can provide a suitable solution.
In 2010 Yeates celebrated its 100th year in business by competing in the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) Corporate Challenge. The firm has worked in partnership with the charity since 2006 by supporting them through different parts of the business. This includes offering a donation service for customers by collecting unwanted furniture to then sell in the charity’s shops. Yeates’ Managing Director, James, said: “Our customers really like the opportunity to de-clutter during their move whilst donating to charity at the same time.”
James added: “Every time we visit CHSW in Wraxall we are inspired by the happy and colourful environment that is provided for children and families who are facing life limiting conditions. We have been involved with CHSW since 2006 when fundraising began for the new hospice. Since then our customers and colleagues have helped us raise more than £11,500 in cash as well as donating time and resources for numerous events and activities.”
