Regency Purchasing Group, Weston-super-Mare
The Regency Purchasing Group has recently celebrated their 25 year anniversary. Initially set up to supply kegged beer products to local bars and hotels, eight years ago the business expanded its range to cover Food, Drink, Utilities, Cleaning Products and much more. The resulting growth justified the change, with the business going from 30 members to over 1,000 today. Regency supplies businesses such as London Zoo, Butcombe Pub Estate and Holiday Inn and now provides over £50 million pounds worth of products and services annually.
The Group offers a comprehensive procurement solution for the leisure and hospitality industry and has unique agreements with suppliers in all major categories. Their aim is to secure savings for all current and new members, whilst ensuring access to the best quality products in the market place and old fashioned support and service throughout.
Regency Purchasing Group has a team of dedicated account managers that support their customers and assist in identifying savings and assisting with sourcing new products as well as controlling pricing. Service is a key part of the Regency strategy, National Account Manager, Sian Collins said: "Service is absolutely paramount and one of our key points of difference versus other buying groups who do not invest in account managers. The best operators want to spend time focusing and developing their business rather than focusing on purchasing. We care about their money as if it was our own and our members know and appreciate that."
To celebrate their 25 year anniversary and to ensure that their ever growing customer database receives the level of care they require Regency have doubled the size of the sales force in the first half of this year, recruiting a further 10 sales and account managers across the UK.
Managing Director Alex Demetriou had the following to say: “Due to our strong ongoing relationships within key sectors, such as Golf Clubs, Children’s Play Centres and Leisure sites we decided to mark our historic milestone with a major company expansion. We are successful because of our people and to invest in them feels right. We are finding that business is better than ever as the recession has made business owners all over the country reassess their spending to try and find savings which is where we step in.”
Ben Hoskin, National Sales Manager is excited about the opportunity and the investment in the business and said: "I have been delighted with the calibre of people we have been able to recruit in the North Somerset area. Office jobs will be created in Weston to support the field team, so we are delighted that our national expansion also provides jobs locally."
