Established in 1999, Plantforce are a diverse and progressive plant hire company based in North Somerset, covering an extensive area from South Wales and across the Southwest. Currently employing 48 staff in their Bristol & Exeter depots, Plantforce have recently recruited several additional team members due to expansion.
Plantforce are constantly searching for niche markets and new innovations in plant hire and, as a result, have one of the most diverse excavator fleets in the country. All our excavators (3 tonne – 52 tonne) have fully automatic hydraulic quick hitches, breaker circuits and various combinations including off- set booms, blades, rubber pads, zero tail swing and long reach equipment. We can also provide earth moving equipment, such as loading shovels and dozers or any type of demolition equipment.
Alongside our extensive range of excavators Plantforce have also recently opened an attachment division which can provide anything from a breaker to suit a 3 ton excavator up to a multi-processor to suit a demo-spec 52 ton excavator.
Plantforce supply various health and safety options: counter weight safety rails, height restrictors, slew restrictors and lifting indicators, as well as equipment adapted to fulfil the multitude of environmental requirements in sensitive working areas, such as risk from water or soil contamination. We also provide security systems to meet all requirements.
Plantforce are predominately a self-drive hire company but also provide a high quality operated service to all our customers. All our plant operators are CCNSG cleared, C P C S and PTS accredited plant operators accredited, so whether you’re looking for self-drive or operated vehicles we can provide the perfect solution.
Plantforce depots are well situated in North Somerset and Exeter to deliver equipment to site across the South West. According to Plantforce Managing Director Claire Trott, “North Somerset provides a diverse commercial environment ideal for new opportunities and growth, especially in the coming years with the development of Hinkley. It also has a wide and varied employment skill base with excellent transport links”.
In September 2013 Plantforce started its expansion plan as part of a £6.5m investment into the renewal of their fleet, see news item (2 April 2014), the objective being to have an average age of 12 months for its entire fleet by summer 2014, and we are on target to achieve this goal! Plantforce Managing Director Claire Trott says, “In January and February this year, Plantforce have taken delivery of over 65 machines which have all gone straight out to work, such has been the demand so far this year. We want to ensure Plantforce becomes recognised as the largest regional supplier of earth moving equipment and to consistently supply new excavators suitable for all applications in the construction industry.”
